McKamey Animal Center

Overview

Since 2008, McKamey Animal Center (MAC) has served the Greater Chattanooga area. MAC believes in creating a culture of compassionate care, community engagement and advocacy for animals by providing programs and education that support people and companion animals throughout our communities. Over 4,000 animals will turn to MAC this year for sheltering, compassion and hope. Thousands more will rely on our community services such as weekly clinics, spay/neuter assistance, and other life-saving programs.

MAC C.A.R.E.S.

The MAC C.A.R.E.S. Center provides MAC with a physical presence in the heart of the communities that most need our support. Located inside the MetMin Impact Hub, the Center offers pet food, supplies, preventative veterinary services and other critically needed pet owner support directly to those who would otherwise have no access to it. Our goal is to keep animals in the homes that love and care for them. Every pet that gets to stay with their loving family is one less that may end up in a shelter.

Pet Food Assistance: We not only typically have pet food available here at MAC and at the MAC C.A.R.E.S. Center, we also distribute donated food to food pantries and organizations throughout the community. During times of economic hardship, we encourage those in need to utilize these free resources, as well as call on the greater community to help us support pet families in need. Donations of unopened/sealed pet food of all kinds (dry/wet, dog/cat, etc) are especially needed at this time.
